There is a real possibility that Fernando Torres will join AC Milan on loan from Chelsea, according to the striker’s representatives.
The Spain international has emerged as a target for the Rossoneri after they sold Mario Balotelli to Liverpool for £16 million earlier this week.
Torres finds himself behind off-season signings Diego Costa and Didier Drogba in the pecking order up front at Stamford bridge this season and would welcome the chance of more regular first-team action with Filippo Inzaghi’s side.
And despite the news that Costa is set to be sidelined for the next month with a hamstring injury, Torres seems to be closing in on a switch to the San Siro.
The Spaniard’s agents were locked in talks with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani for more than an hour, with Margarita Garay telling La Gazzetta dello Sport afterwards: “I’m still positive.”
Another of the player’s representatives, Antonio Sanz, told Milan News: “The meeting went well. Torres to Milan is a real possibility. We will take some time to reflect before giving an answer. I cannot add anything more. Milan are a great club.”
