TEDDY-AKUMUNAIROBI, Kenya, June 4 – Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia midfielder, Anthony Akumu, has completed a six-month loan switch to Sudanese League side Khartoum National FC that runs until December 31st.

Club Secretary General Chris Omondi, confirmed the development to Capital Sport, saying the deal was completed after agreeing on personal terms.

“Akumu is leaving Gor after completing talks with the Sudanese club. Probably today will be his last match for the club and that’s if he will be selected. I believe this is for the benefit of the player.

“Gor is a big club we will find his replacement during this transfer period because I believe there are many young good players outside there who are eager to fill his shoes,” Omondi added on Wednesday.

Akumu, who was a regular in coach Bobby Williamson’s first X1 squad, was instrumental in the team’s midfield that saw K’Ogalo lift last season’s KPL trophy for the first time in 18 years as well as reaching the first round of CAF Champions League.

At the same, Gor are in negotiations with Bandari who want their forward Shaban Kenga back after his six months loan deal lapsed Wednesday.

“We are still in talks with Bandari to extend Kenga’s stay since the player has indicated he want to stay at Gor. But we know his club wants him back because they are struggling in the league,” the Secretary General added.

Gor bought the last season’s Player of the Year runners-up on a Sh200, 000 agreement.

Other players whose contracts have expired include midfielders Rama Salim and Eric Ochieng, with Omondi refuting claims that the former Congo United player has been linked to Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

“We have not received any official communication from any club that wants the signature of Rama. The issue of Simba approaching him are just rumours.”

“I want to appeal to our supporters to continue supporting the club financially since we are still in the process of acquiring a sponsor,” he concluded.
