NAIROBI, January 5 – Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) will host a one day High-Performance Seminar on Friday in Nairobi with the aim of drawing consistency in all the national team squads.

The seminar that will be attended by all respective Team Managers will be facilitated by the KRU CEO Ronald Bukusi and former Kenya Sevens Head Coach Felix Ochieng.

The training is geared towards setting a culture of excellence across the board in the Kenya Sevens, national fifteens, the Lioness and Under-19s.

The event will be a big beneficiary to the men’s and women’s sevens teams who will represent the country at the August Rio De Janeiro Olympics Games while the 15s will be looking to improve on their International Rugby Board Rankings.

KRU are planning to extend the seminar to Kenya Cup next month where all the clubs and Team Managers will attend.

-Kenya Cup resumes-

Meanwhile, six matches have been lined up as the league resumes this weekend after breaking for the festive season.

Champions KCB host Western Bulls at the ASK Jamhuri Park while leaders Kenya Harlequin travel to Kabras Sugar at the Kakamega Showground.

Other matches on the day pit Top Fry Nakuru against Nondescripts with Blak Blad hosting Mean Machine whilst Mwamba will play Thika as Impala Saracens welcome newcomers Bungoma’s Kenya Sharks.

The fixture between Strathmore Leos and Homeboyz has been postponed following the death of Leos scrum half Geoffrey Githaiga and will be played at a later date.
